COERR Kanchanaburi Organized Refresher Courses for Refugee Farmers

  During April-June 2017, COERR Kanchanaburi organized a number of refresher courses and workshops for refugee farmers who had been trained and wished to gain more skills in organic farming and animal raising to increase their productivity and future career. At Ban Don Yang camp, COERR organized a workshop on April 11-12, in mushroom cultivation for 24 farmers: 13 female and 11 male. Then on April 20-21, a workshop in beansprout growing was held for 24 farmers: 17 female and 7 male.

  While in Tham Hin camp, training in soil improvement was held on April 5-6 in which 33 farmers, 26 female and 7 male attended. Later, on April 19, a workshop on beansprout growing was held for 18 farmers: 10 female and 8 male. The latest training was organized during June 21-22 in which 45 farmers consisting of 31 female and 14 male, acquired skills in the use of bio pest insect repellent and poultry vaccination.

In conclusion, 144 refugee farmers of 97 female and 47 male have benefited from COERR Kanchanaburi Agricultural Training and Workshops during the latest quarter of this year.
